Why are churches replacing pews with chairs?
The benefits of chairs
One of the greatest advantages of using chairs instead of pews is flexibility. Chairs are mobile. You’re free to change the layout of your seating every week if you wish. They’re also easy to store, which allows you to quickly and easily create more space in your church.
Are church pews made of solid wood?
No particleboard is used in construction. Upholstered church pew bodies are reinforced with a solid oak inner-frame. All components are screwed together into solid oak or solid maple and are guaranteed not to come loose for the life of the installation.
How do you calculate church seating capacity?
To calculate the seating capacity of a church:
- Calculate the area of your church, excluding the stage, closets, or any other spaces where people will not be sitting.
- Divide the area by 7.
- Round the answer down to be safe.
